Art With Adeline

Aurum Academy is proud to announce our first class created by one of our own homeschool families as part of our push for entrepreneurship amongst our local teens!

Adeline Giebel (adelinemaegiebel@gmail.com) is launching two art classes on Wednesdays from January 12th - February 16th (details below); the first week is totally free and we would love for you to join us!

Her mother (Tara Giebel) will be present but Adeline's going to a great job - and I can personally attest that she's a remarkable young artist!

There are two separate class sessions:

Art Discovery (5-8 years old, 1-2pm)

Students will discover the beauty of art as they are introduced to a variety of art and art activities. We will explore the seven elements of art - color, shape, line, form, value, space and texture as we create our masterpieces. Students will discover the excitement of paints, collage, drawing, and other creative media and how they are used to enrich the experience. My goal is for students to begin to understand the many ways artistic ideas can be expressed. The emphasis is on the process of creating art, rather than the final art piece.

Art Journaling (8-12 years old, 2-3pm)
Students will prepare their own unique art journal to fill with visual art and creative writing. Class time will focus on exploring mixed media techniques and prompts useful for enhancing creativity. A variety of media will be used, including collage, acrylic and watercolor paint, ink, found objects, etc. Optional: Students can bring any supplies they wish to incorporate into their own art journal.
